Peter Karp to Release Magnificent Heart on May 8th

Peter Karp is known for many things. An assertive singer, a skilled guitarist and a passionate performer, he’s also an individual who writes songs that frequently reflect tales told as part of life’s journey, spawned by passion and personal experience.

Consequently he’s not easily confined to any singular genre. Blues, Americana and rock ‘n roll reverence all find common ground within his visceral template. He taps tradition and yet also maintains contemporary credence. As his friend and collaborator, Rolling Stones guitarist and John Mayall sideman Mick Taylor once noted, “Guys like Peter Karp, James Taylor and Bob Dylan embody Americana Blues, and us English guys are inspired by it.”

That’s never been more evident than on Karp’s striking new album, Magnificent Heart which will be released May 8th on Rose Cottage Records. A stirring collection of songs and observations, it bends the boundaries from blues to ballads, all conveyed with the insight and authority for which Karp’s come to be known. Whether it’s the gritty defiance inherent in such songs as “Sitting on Top of the World” and “The Letter,” the assured swagger of “This World,” the stoic determination inherent in “The Grave,” or the softer sentiments conveyed through “The World,” “Scared,” “The Last Heartbeat,” and the string-filled coda, “Face the Wind,” Karp conveys a knowing perspective that resonates through common cause.

The dozen songs that make up Magnificent Heart were written over the course of the past few years while Karp was touring both domestically and abroad. They were intended, he insists, for those he describes as either “doomed or redeemed.” They’re stories about people he met and the experiences he encountered along the way. He describes it as a reflection of “the triumphs and tragedies that you leave behind and await you as you move ahead. Only love, faith and a magnificent heart will see you through.”

Written and produced by Karp, Magnificent Heart features Karp on slide guitar, solo guitar, guitar, piano and vocals, along with Kim Wilson (harmonica), Jason Ricci (harmonica), John Ginty (B3 organ), Jim Eingher (piano and keyboard), Paul Carbonara (guitar and solo guitar on “The Letter,” “This World”), James Otis Karp (solo guitar on “Scared”), Niles Terrat (bass), Edward Williams (bass), Michael Catapano (drums/percussion), Cold City Horns (Jacob Wynne, trumpet and David Kasper, tenor sax), and Eyrn O’ree (background vocals).

Born in the tiny hamlet of Leonia, New Jersey, just over the Hudson River from New York City, Karp was introduced to music at an early age by his mother and sister who would take him to shows featuring the stars of the nascent English Invasion, Murray the K’s freewheeling road shows and the soul artists emerging from Motown with the beckoning of Top 40 radio.

That instinctive love of music was accelerated when he went to live with his dad in a trailer park, in rural Enterprise, Alabama. It was there that he became aware of the musicians that laid the seeds for the seminal sounds of the Blues, revered pioneers like Son House, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Howlin’ Wolf. He also began exploring the artists that picked up that gauntlet early on, original American masters like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

He formed his first band, They Came From Houses, which quickly became a staple of New York’s nascent underground scene, as represented by such iconic clubs as CBGBs, Folk City and the Mudd Club. The band shared stages with the likes of Marshall Crenshaw, Mink Deville, the Stray Cats, John Hammond Jr., George Thorogood and David Johansen, among the many, but eventually Karp became disillusioned with the music scene and walked away, preferring to spend his time caring for a new family instead of finding himself always out on the road.

Revitalized after his hiatus, Karp eventually returned to performing, writing songs that reflected his accumulated life experiences. That core commitment led to his first independent release, 1998’s Live at the Americana Roadhouse, a poorly recorded but well received collection of original songs captured in concert. It was also the record that brought him to Mick Taylor’s attention after hearing some of its rough recordings. Taylor subsequently flew to the States to play on Karp’s next effort, The Turning Point, and shortly thereafter the two embarked on a tour together.

In 2007, Karp released a follow up, Shadows and Cracks, his first record for the respected blues label Blind Pig. He Said — She Said, which found him partnering with Canadian singer/songwriter Sue Foley, was released in 2010 and quickly made it into Billboard’s Top Five as well. The duo’s follow up, Beyond the Crossroads, came soon after and was subsequently cited by The Alternate Root Magazine as the #1 CD of the Year for 2012. In 2016, Karp released The Arson’s Match, a series of recordings made with Mick Taylor at New York City’s Bottom Line. Funds from the project go towards a charity Karp started in his wife’s memory.

“What turns me on is absolute honesty,” Karp confesses. “You have to take it seriously to stay committed to who you are and where you’re coming from. That’s the way I connect to my audience. You can’t BS people. It’s always about honesty.”

Ulrik Munther – Daughter lyrics

[Verse 1]
Early morning I watch you sleep
Not everyone is as lucky as me
I kiss your forehead before I leave
Soon you’ll be old and forget how it feels
To be young and in love
For the very first time build our home of our own
Have a child … what it’s like
When the sun is begining to rise

[Chorus]
Oh, how I hope that if we have a daughter
She’ll grow up to be like you
If she sometimes takes after her father
That would be okay too

[Verse 2]
We could move to another country
Grow our own food, get a couple of sheep
Or a place in maybe New York City
Right by the Statue of Liberty
Cause I know I’ll be fine
Just as long as I’ve got you right here by my side
There’s no fear in my eyes
So take me wherever you like

[Chorus]
And oh, how I hope that if we have a daughter
She’ll grow up to be like you
And if she sometimes takes after her father
That would be okay too

Meek Mill Gets 4 Years Prison Sentence For Probation Violation

Meek Mill violated his probation and now he is heading back to prison for up to four years.

The Philadelphia rapper turned up to court today with his attorney, Brian McMonagle, where he learned his fate. Meek Mill has been having a string of legal victories over the past couple of weeks, but today his luck ran out when a judge ruled that he violated his probation when he was recently arrested in New York City. Although he struck a deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time, Meek still found himself in deeper legal problems with his probation.

The Dreamchasers rapper was sentenced to 2-4 years in a state prison, TMZ reported. He also violated his probation for an alleged fight at St. Louis airport. In that case too, the charge was dismissed. Meek Mill has been on probation for a 2009 gun and drug charge. As part of his probation, he cannot have any runnings with law enforcement including getting arrested.

Although the charges were dismissed, the judge ruled that the arrest alone is a violation of his probation. In 2015, Meek Mill violated his probation when he traveled out of state to an award show with Nicki Minaj without permission. He got off on just three months of house arrest. This time he might not be so lucky and could serve up to four years of prison time.

Meek Mill has been working hard to rehabilitate his image in recent years through a number of charitable initiatives and at one point he even announced on social media that he will stop recording music with violent lyrics. That effort was clearly not enough to get him into good grace with the judge. Since the news broke, he has been getting some support from his celebrity peers. It’s not clear when his sentence will start.

Meek Mill Reacts To Prison Sentence For Probation Violation

Meek Mill is taking his 2-4 years prison sentence for probation violation positively.

The “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper has shared his reaction to news that he is going back to prison and could be gone for a while. “We go to war for our freedom,” he wrote on Instagram on Monday. “They say we equal I used to wanna play I like Randall and be a Eagle I used to play the quarterback my homie would go receiver that was until the football got flattened by a dope needle on the pavement.”

Meek Mill turned up to court in Philadelphia on Monday with his attorney, Brian McMonagle, where he learned his fate. A judge ruled that he violated his probation when he got arrested in St. Louis earlier this year for an alleged fight with an airport employee, and again this summer in New York City for popping wheelies on his motorcycle in the streets of NY. He was charged with assault in the St. Louis case and for reckless driving and endangerment for the New York case.

Both charges were eventually dropped after he took a plea deal, but the judge rule that he violated his parole just by getting arrested. This is a big blow to Meek Mill who has been rehabilitating his image over the last few years with a number of charitable initiatives and getting more involve in his community. Meek has been getting some support from some of his celebrity peers like Kevin Hart who shared a supporting message.

“Praying for my brother [Meek Mill] right now,” Hart wrote. “God sometimes puts the toughest battles on his strongest soldiers. I’m here for you man!!!! My brother for life… Always here for you man!!! This storm will pass… Stay strong & keep your head up.”

Meek Mill will have to serve a minimum of two years in prison for violating his probation and could serve as much as four years.

JAY-Z Speaks On Meek Mill Prison Sentence “It’s Unjust”

JAY-Z is supporting Meek Mill amidst his shocking 2-4 years prison sentence for probation violation calling the sentencing “unjust.”

In a rare public statement, the Roc Nation boss posted a message on his official Facebook account criticizing the judge sentencing while stating that he will always stand by Meek Mill. “The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career,” Hov wrote.

A judge handed down the heavy sentencing on Monday after ruling that Meek Mill violated his probation when he got arrested twice this year. Although the charges against the Philly rapper was eventually dropped, the judge ruled that the arrest alone was a violation of his parole. Meek has been on probation for a gun and drug charge dated back to 2009. In 2015, he served three months on house arrest for violating his probation by traveling out of state without permission. In March of this year, he was arrested and charged with assault which is a misdemeanor following an altercation at the St. Louis airport. In August he found himself in police custody again for stunting in the streets of New York City.

For both charges, he struck a plea deal that leaves him with just community service and the arrest records wiped clean from his name. Meek Mill has been getting a lot of support from his fans and celebrity peers including Kevin Hart who shared a message on Instagram. The Philly rapper also reacted to news of his sentencing writing, “They say we equal I used to wanna play I like Randall and be a Eagle I used to play the quarterback my homie would go receiver that was until the football got flattened by a dope needle on the pavement.”

Drew Barrymore’s Hollywood Evolution: From Child Star to Bad Girl to A-List Actress

No celebrity has had the kind of enduring career that Drew Barrymore has had in her 39 years in Hollywood.

An offspring of the iconic Barrymore family, the 42-year-old leading lady has been acting since she was a mere 3-years-old.

In 1982, Drew won our hearts in E.T. But then the cute kid grew up and turned into a wild child, starring in Poison Ivy in 1992 and Bad Girls in 1994—the same year she got married for the first time at only 19-years-old. Drew had some troubled times, but then she cleaned up her act and her acting roles started to change for the better her spine-chilling cameo in the 1996 sleeper hit Scream.

The bubbly star began nabbing big roles in big films like The Wedding Singer (1998), Ever After (1998) and Never Been Kissed (2000), cementing her star status as a leading lady.

She went to star in blockbuster hits like Charlie’s Angels, 50 First Dates and He’s Just Not That Into You.

But Drew wasn’t content with just being in front of the camera. In 1995 she started her own production company, Flower Films, which has produced 15 films and six television shows over the past 22 years.

As for her personal life. It’s dipped and peaked and dipped again. She was briefly married to funnyman Tom Green from 2001–2002, but that ended. Eventually she married Will Kopelman in 2012 and she had two children with him before they announced their split in 2016.

Nowadays, the recently divorced A-lister is starring in her own Netflix series, The Santa Clarita Diet, which she also captains as the show’s executive producer.

The mother of two may almost be in the biz 40 years, but screen queen can’t stop, won’t stop slow down.

Lyrics Autograf – Sleepless in NYC

Could I stand by, while we watched it fall
Fortunes are fading, do we hit the wall
So stay right next to me

‘Cause your body’s all I need
Maybe we’re not what we were before
Strangers passing, all for starters now
There’s nothing left to hold
And the night is all I know.(sleepless in nyc)

Getting high ’til the sun goes down
Lift my head and I leave the ground
I know I said that I need this town
I need you back, wrap it up did the best of me
Neon lights come and set me free
Close my eyes and I know I’ll be.

Sleepless in Nyc, City, City. (x4)

If I could try getting you alone
You could remember that I feel like home
But I can’t sleep and the night is all I see.

VERITE – When you’re gone

Sitting in depression
Always carving me irreverent
If I pray the wayward lesson
But your mouth can do it better
Then some god who don’t speak

Fucking up my language
Make some words, we’re never fading
If you stay, say you’ll save me
You can take it all away
When you leave I’ll feel the same

I don’t mind you leaving when the damage is done
And I don’t mind, I feel the same when you’re gone

‘Cause once your loss, once your lies
I don’t wanna be here anymore, anymore
There’s no difference here for when you’re gone, when you’re gone
I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here

‘Cause once your loss, once your lies
I don’t wanna be here anymore, anymore
There’s no difference here for when you’re gone, when you’re gone
I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here

Baby take me back to New York City
Where the stars don’t ever see me
I can hide under the scenery of a saturated sky
Just some conjugated meaning
Watch the light drip down your face
And when you’ll leave I’ll feel the same

I don’t mind you leaving when the damage is done
And I don’t mind, I feel the same when you’re gone

[Instrumental break]

‘Cause once your loss, once your lies
I don’t wanna be here anymore, anymore
There’s no difference here for when you’re gone, when you’re gone
I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here

‘Cause once your loss, once your lies
I don’t wanna be here anymore, anymore
There’s no difference here for when you’re gone, when you’re gone
I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here

(I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here)
(I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here)
(I’m not crawling on my knees to keep you here)

Hot sauce – Young M.A lyrics

Lyrics Young M.A – Hot sauce

Straight off the top
M.A bring them hoes out
Redlyfe bring them poles out.(hot sauce)

Pull up to the club with a bottle on me (that Henny)
I’m already sipping
Got five voicemails, I just left the brib
And my b*tch, she already tripping
Blu just rolled a blunt, he like, “bro you good?”
I’m like, “nah bro, let me hit it”
Puff puff drink, I don’t wanna think
Groupies want a picture, groupies gotta wait
I’m in another zone, I’m in another zone
My girl getting on my nerves, I ain’t going home
Ain’t got time for this shit (I don’t got time for this shit)
I ain’t got time for this b*tch (I don’t got time for this b*tch)
Throwing ones like money grow on trees
So when I look down all I see is green
Never look for love in the strip club
Where all the bartenders give me big hugs, wait
Hold up, turn around, tssk, girl
Where you think you going with that big butt?
Brown water sippin’ in that big cup
My nigga Bottle only rolling big blunts
Chill dude, you are not a tough guy
Not the only one with a gun, guy
My hitters like shootin’ shit for fun, guy
Head shot, hit the boy one time
Do not come to Brooklyn with that nonsense
I used to bag the work in them apartments
Now I get a bag for a walkthrough
If you want to book me, Big Savage who you talk to
While they making disses I’m just making hits
‘Cause if it don’t make dollars it don’t make no sense
This is chess, not checkers, learn the game dude
But I just can’t relate ’cause that’s what lames do
Big brown bone, she look like Babe Ruth
She let me hit it out the park like I’m Babe Ruth
Then I hit my dougie, ooh I’m pretty though
Bring that Hilfiger back and I’m jiggy though
Niggas know I’m hot but they envy though
Oh well, at least my b*tch is with me ho
This her favorite song, this her favorite song (OOOUUU)
She get in her Birk when they put this on
Owww, that’s the thot call
OOOUUU, shawty got that hot sauce
My guys don’t talk, they just pop off
If a thot tryna front, she’ll get dropped off
My homie Sav in that Porsche with the top off
I’m in that Audi with some slippers and some socks on
Doin’ 95 just to piss a cop off
Then I pull up to your hood and piss your block off (skrt skrt)
b*tch I got that hot sauce
So NY with these Timbs on
And shoutout to the girls who don’t wear sew-ins
Cause it’s all about my b*tches with the wigs on, OOOUUU
You don’t got no hot sauce
You are not hot, you a knockoff
f*ck around boy and get your top knocked off
Hear them hoes, yeah they quick to really pop off
And them Redlyfe niggas, yeah they pop off
And you know this the beat I can bop on
Yeah we bop on, New York City bop on ’em
Yeah we bop, I’ma bop, I’ma bop on ’em
OOOUUUUUU versuri-lyrics.info
Yeah we got that hot sauce
But you niggas got no hot sauce
This the type of beat I can bop on
I need a quick thot that can top off
This the year that I really get my guap on
And you know the whole game, I got a lock on
It’s Young M.A, Redlyfe, got that hot sauce
Redlyfe got that hot sauce
Shawty you don’t got no hot sauce
Nah, you don’t got no hot sauce
You don’t got no hot sauce
Them Redlyfe niggas got that hot sauceee.

Ricky Martin – Livin’ La Vida Loca

She’s into superstitions
Black cats and voodoo dolls
I feel a premonition
That girl’s gonna make me fall
She’s into new sensation
New kicks in the candlelight
She’s got a new addiction
For every day and night
She’ll make you take your
Clothes off and go dancing in the rain
She’ll make you live her crazy life
But she’ll take away your pain
Like a bullet to your brain

Upside inside out
She’s livin’ la vida loca
She’ll push and pull you down
Livin’ la vida loca
Her lips are devil red
And her skin’s the color of mocha
She will wear you out
Livin’ la vida loca
She’s livin la vida loca

Woke up in New York City
In a funky cheap hotel
She took my heart
And she took my money
She must’ve slipped me a sleepin’ pill
She never drinks the water
And makes you order
French champagne
Once you’ve has a taste of her
You’ll never be the same
Yeah, she’ll make you go insane

Upside inside out
She’s livin’ la vida loca
She’ll push and pull you down
Livin’ la vida loca
Her lips are devil red
And her skin’s the color of mocha
She will wear you out
Livin’ la vida loca
She’s livin la vida loca

She’ll make you take your
Clothes off and go dancing in the rain
She’ll make you live her crazy life
Until you go insane
No, you’ll never be the same

Upside inside out
She’s livin’ la vida loca
She’ll push and pull you down
Livin’ la vida loca
Her lips are devil red
And her skin’s the color of mocha
She will wear you out
Livin’ la vida loca
Livin’ la vida loca
Livin’ la vida loca
Livin’ la vida loca

Upside inside out
She’s livin’ la vida loca
She’ll push and pull you down
Livin’ la vida loca

And her skin’s the color of mocha
She will wear you out
Livin’ la vida loca
Livin’ la vida loca

Pitbull – International Love

You can’t catch me boy
I am overseas at about a hundred Gs for sure
Don’t test me boy (don’t test me boy) ’cause I rap with the best
Fo’ sho three oh five to the death of me
Cremate my body let the ocean have what’s left of me
But for now forget about that
Blow the whistle, baby you’re the referee

You put it down like New York City
I never sleep wild like Los Angeles
My fantasy hotter than Miami I feel the heat
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love

I don’t play football
But I’ve touched down everywhere (everywhere?) everywhere
I don’t play baseball
But I’ve hit a home run everywhere everywhere
I’ve been to countries and cities I can’t pronounce
And the places on the globe I didn’t know existed
In Romania she pulled me to the side
And told me Pit you can have me and my sister
In Lebanon yeah the women the bomb
And in Greece you guessed it the women are sweet
Been all around the world
But I ain’t gonna lie there’s nothing like Miami’s heat

You put it down like New York City
I never sleep wild like Los Angeles
My fantasy hotter than Miami I feel the heat
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love

Down in DR they’re looking for visa’s
I Ain’t taking credit cards if you know what I mean
En cuba la cosa esta dura
But the woman get down, if you know what I mean
En Colombia the women got everything done, but they’re
Some of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen
In Brazil they’re freaky with big ol’ boobs
And their thongs, blue yellow and green
En L.A. tengo la Mexicana, en New York tengo la boricua
Besitos para todas las mujeres en Venezuela, muah
Y en Miami tengo cualquiera

You put it down like New York City
I never sleep wild like Los Angeles
My fantasy hotter than Miami I feel the heat
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love

There’s not a place that your love don’t affect me baby
So don’t ever change
I crossed the globe when I’m with you baby, hey

You put it down like New York City
I never sleep wild like Los Angeles
My fantasy hotter than Miami I feel the heat
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love

You put it down like New York City
I never sleep wild like Los Angeles
My fantasy hotter than Miami I feel the heat
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love
Oh oh oh oh it’s international love

You’re international, so international
You’re international, so international
You’re international, so international
Whoa whoa oh whoa whoa oh, international love
Whoa whoa oh whoa whoa oh, international love

Cam’ron – Welcome To New York City (feat. Jay-Z & Juelz Santana)

Turn the motherfuckin’ music up
Just Blaze, man, you owe me nigga
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Welcome to the Empire State
Home of the World Trade
Birthplace of Michael Jordan
Home of Biggie Smalls
Roc-A-Fella headquaters
Ladies and gentlemen, Killa Cam, Young Hov is definitely in the building
Brooklyn, Harlem World
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City
Stand the fuck up

I’m a B.K. brawler, Marcy projects hallway loiterer
Pure coke copper, get your order up
I bring ’em to Baltimore in the Ford Explorer
It’s gonna cost you more if I gotta get ’em to Florida
Rucker game attender; with the Bent parked
On the sidewalk with the temp plates on the fender
I ain’t hard to find you catch me front and center
At the Knick game, big chain in all my splendor
Next to Spike if you pan left to right
I own Madison Square, catch me at the fight
But damn once again if you pan left at the ice
It be the man that write checks with the hand that don’t write
I go off the head when I’m rambling on the mic
And I go off the feds when I’m scrambling at night
And it was often said I brought hammers to the fight
But we from New York City, right Cam? (Ya damn right)

It’s the home of 9-11, the place of the lost towers
We still bangin’, we never lost power, tell em
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City
Y’all fuckin’ with BK’s banger and Harlem’s own gangster
Now that’s danger, there’s nothing left to say but
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City

Yo, there’s a war goin’ on outside no man is safe from
It don’t matter if you three feet or eight-one
You’ll get eight from the nine and straight blown
Wig split, melon cracked, all that on day one
Carry eight guns, two in the trunk
Two in the waist, two in the ankle, two to just spank you
You get jammed with them jammers, blammed with them blammers
Hot here, ask Mase he ran to Atlanta
Think you know what life do, minks on the motor-cycle
Trinkets they so delightful, blinging with so much ice fool
In front of Sparks body Castellano
Block away watch by Gotti and Gravano
It’s la cosra nostra, someone close approach ya
They’ll toast ya: gopher, bread loafer, your chauffeur
Old coke they raise up and snort, blaze up ya fort
Jay, Puff, Shyne: cases was caught
Midnight pitch fights, another victim
Watch him fore he watch you, Killa
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City

It’s the home of 9-11, the place of the lost towers
We still bangin’, we never lost power, tell em
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City
Y’all fuckin’ with BK’s banger and Harlem’s own gangster
Now that’s danger, there’s nothing left to say but
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City

I’m from 101, west a Hund 40th, this shit is live
5th floor, 56, you know the zip, district 5
You’re on 22nd, hit you from two-one
That’s on Lenox, 7th Ave was News One
Coverage at Centre Street
Got Brafman defendin’ me
Cause New York’ll miss me if I’m locked in the penitentiary
The judge said "Is this that thug, from the Kit-Kat club?"
But I got enough chips stacked up to make the bitch back up
Killa, I pinch that button, I grip that snub to hit that thug
Lay up in a pitch black tub
You lookin’ at rich black thugs to get that love
And we won’t stop til I get back Blood
Holla at em Hov

I’m from Flushing, Marcy, Nostrand, Myrtle and Park
Niggas’ll drive by in the day, murder you in the dark
That’s why the Johnny gun I’m holding
Wet niggas up like the johnny-pump is open
Homie, I play hard

It’s the home of 9-11, the place of the lost towers
We still bangin’, we never lost power, tell em
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City
Y’all fuckin’ with BK’s banger and Harlem’s own gangster
Now that’s danger, there’s nothing left to say but
Welcome to New York City, welcome to New York City

You all niggas, man
Y’all can’t fuck around, man
It’s the ROC bitch, Killa
My nigga Jigga, Siegel, Beans
Diplomats, man, holla, Dash
Get the fuck off our dick – no homo
Probably own this city for two minutes, man
I own this shit right now man, I ain’t going nowhere
Welcome to New York City

Hold on me – Mozzy feat. G-Eazy lyrics

Lyrics Mozzy – Hold on me

Shawty trynna throw it back all night
She know I got the plug for the right price
Pull up in the whip ..
I’m ten hoes deep in the ..
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the moola really got a hold on me.

Yeah
I’m livin’ life like we ain’t promised tomorrow
Lotta dope smoked, lotta lotta gelato
Hundred band dance like niggas just hit the lotto
Got a greasy kid just to get in the condo
Backhand a b*tch for tryna bilk me with a condom
I can tell that you ain’t a gansta blood goofy with the ..
.., fifty thousand in diamonds just on my mama
Cautious when approaching a problem ..
You ain’t ’bout a comma, then we ain’t nothing in common
If you ain’t ’bout a comma, then we ain’t nothing in common
Still .. with expired tags on it
.. whatever you had on it, yeah
I fell off but baby I’m back on it, yeah
I fell off but baby I’m back on it
I really think the money got a hold on me
I’m tryna convince her that she should hold for me.

Shawty tryna throw it back all night
She know I got the plug for the right price
Pull up in the whip ..
I’m ten hoes deep in the ..
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the mula really got a hold on meee.

I think the money really got a hold on me
I followed the code OGs told to me
And the game was given, it wasn’t sold to me
These hoes give it up to me because they owe it to me
I came up fully, I’m in a different bracket
Five bands for the leather, I’m in a different jacket
Money tall as Shaquille, I just been tryna stack it
Play me the beat and I kill, I’m trying to attack it
This game is too easy, I do this sh*t in my sleep
New York City, we mobbin’, I hit the club twenty deep
Cashin’ out when I feel like, Gerald never been cheap
It’s not that serious fam, I swear it isn’t that deep, uh
I swear it was perfect timing
If you ain’t ’bout a comma, then we ain’t nothing in common
The homies in black hoodies and beanies, they hella mobby
From Sac to the Bay, yeah you know that I f*ck with Mozzy
Ehhhh.

Shawty tryna throw it back all night
She know I got the plug for the right price
Pull up in the whip ..
I’m ten hoes deep in the ..
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the money really got a hold on me
I think the moola really got a hold on me.

Yeah I think this money really got a hold on me
Niggas can’t get a hold on me
Now them niggas talk low on me
f*ck .. what you change, used to be broke homie
Now I’m bossed up, Louis V., ..
Ferragamo, Benihana, every night I’m bossed up
My lifestyle awesome, this is how it ‘posed to be
I don’t believe in luck, my blessings really got a hold on me
Money ain’t controllin’ me, but money is controllin’ me
The money .. I get the green
Devils get up off of me, help me get them off of me
I call these hoes, sluts and b*tches, and I drink up all of it
My mama said don’t let the money make your head bigger
I’m cocky as f*ck and I don’t f*ck with niggas
And I don’t trust these b*tches, ever since the word ‘gold digger’
My homie fell in love, I told him “No nigga, no nigga”.

Shawty tryna throw it back all night (but he ain’t listen)
She know I got the plug for the right price (ohhh)
Pull up in the whip ..
I’m ten hoes deep in the ..
I think the money really got a hold on meee
I think the money really got a hold on me (this money nigga)
I think the money really got a hold on me (sh*t will f*ck up your life, but it’s nice)
I think the mula really got a hold on meee.

Joel Adams – Die For You

[Verse 1]
I wish I was a movie star
That ain’t happening
I wish I’d drive a fancy car (no)
Well I’d fly to New York City
But my plane could never get that far
‘Cause my life ain’t what I thought it was
Said you like all the fancy things
Diamonds, Pearls, and Louis Vuitton
But my package just ain’t that big (no)
Spent all my life-time running
But I still haven’t got that far

[Chorus]
For you I ain’t giving up
Cause baby I’d die for you
I’d try for you, I’d live for you
You were all I do
Baby I’d die for you, I tried
You’re everything I do
Baby that’s just not good enough for you

[Verse 2]
You think you got the best of me
Yeah well you’re probably right
But you ain’t seen the rest of me (no)
Spent all my life-time running
But I still haven’t got that far

[Chorus]
For you I ain’t giving up
Cause baby I’d die for you
I’d try for you, I’d live for you
You were all I do
Baby I’d die for you, I tried
You’re everything I do
Baby that’s just not good enough for you

[Bridge]
‘Cause maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong
Maybe I wrote in all down in a song
You say what you like, I say what I want
You give me a list that goes on and on
But everytime you walk out that door
You got me thinking, baby now I want you even more
So say what you like, I’ll say what I want
I need somebody to save me

[Chorus]
Cause baby I’d die for you
I’d try for you, I’d live for you
You were all I do
Baby I’d die for you, I tried
You’re everything I do
‘Cause baby I’d
Cause baby I’d die for you
I’d try for you, I’d live for you
You were all I do
Baby I’d die for you, and I tried
You’re everything I do
Baby that’s just not good enough for you

Pull it down for me shawty, lemme see that
Do that thang thang, yeah you fucking right
Leave your nigga back, I’m tryna fuck tonight
You still on the down low
Still creep on your boy, still freak on the down low
You know what I’m round for
I done came round to see you drop down on me
Do it slowly
Buss it all open like you got a slow leak
I’ve been in the streets with three or four freaks
She is so bad might need a police
Stomach on flat, ass obese
Walk oh how the fuck you got in those jeans
I just wanna touch ya, fuck ya OD
Know you got a man but this is lowkey

[Hook: Ashanti & (Tory Lanez)]
What’s love, got to do, got to do with it, babe
(what’s love, what’s love, what’s love if you got it for me babe)
What’s love, it’s about us, it’s about trust, babe
(we’re supposed to be about each other)
What’s love, got to do, got to do with it, babe
(what’s love, what’s love, what’s love if you got it for me babe)
What’s love, it should be about us, it should be about trust babe
(we’re supposed to be about each other)

[Verse 2: Nyce]
And I got two different girls on me
It ain’t easy, to get em off me
‘Cause I pull up in that light foreign
Shawty you see me, you can’t ignore it
I ain’t fucking with you dumb broads, got my dawgs, get em off
There’s a lot of bad bitches I done pissed off, did wrong, dipped off
Still a nigga mean with the wrist
She gon’ take it off, course she ain’t with the shits
That’s your girlfriend but she ain’t give a shit
Clean in this bitch and the watch on my wrist cost a key and a brick
What’s love got to do with it
I could show you just what to do with it
Come through, I’ma let you get it
And you know what I do with..

[Hook: Ashanti & (Tory Lanez)]
What’s love, got to do, got to do with it, babe

What’s love, it’s about us, it’s about trust, babe

Pull it down for me shawty, lemme see that
Do that thang thang, yeah you fucking right

You still on the down low
Still creep on your boy, still freak on the down low
You know what I’m round for
I done came round to see you drop down on me
Do it slowly
Buss it all open like you got a slow leak
I’ve been in the streets with three or four freaks
She is so bad might need a police
Stomach on flat, ass obese
Walk oh how the fuck you got in those jeans
I just wanna touch ya, fuck ya OD
Know you got a man but this is lowkey

[Hook: Tory Lanez]
What’s love, got to do, got to do with it, babe

What’s love, it’s about us, it’s about trust, babe
(we’re supposed to be about each other)
What’s love, got to do, got to do with it, babe
(what’s love, what’s love, what’s love if you got it for me babe)
What’s love, it should be about us, it should be about trust babe
(we’re supposed to be about each other)

[Verse 2: Nyce]

(we’re supposed to be about each other)

Taylor Swift – Riptide Lyrics

I was scared of dentists and the dark
I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations
Oh, all my friends are turning green
You’re the magician’s assistant in their dreams

Oh, and they come unstuck

Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you’re singing that song and
I got a lump in my throat because
You’re gonna sing the words wrong

There’s this movie that I think you’ll like
This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City
This cowboy’s running from himself
And she’s been living on the highest shelf

Oh, and they come unstuck

Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you’re singing that song and
I got a lump in my throat because
You’re gonna sing the words wrong

I just wanna, I just wanna know
If you’re gonna, if you’re gonna stay
I just gotta, I just gotta know
I can’t have it, I can’t have it any other way
I swear she’s destined for the screen
Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you’ve ever seen, oh

Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you’re singing that song and
I got a lump in my throat because
You’re gonna sing the words wrong

Oh lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you’re singing that song and
I got a lump in my throat because
You’re gonna sing the words wrong

Oh lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you’re singing that song and
I got a lump in my throat because
You’re gonna sing the words wrong
I got a lump in my throat because you’re gonna sing the words wrong

Mako – North Dakota (Hourglass Album)

[Verse 1]
I think that I’d love North Dakota
I saw it once inside a magazine
Get this chip up off of my shoulder
Settle down somewhere the grass is green

[Pre-Chorus]
‘Cause California dreams has too many sleepless nights
I wanna feel the earth beneath my feet
Been searching for relief from all these city lights
I just need a place to let me be

[Chorus]
Let me be free
Let me be whole again
Let me be me
Let me take hold again
Let me be free
Let me be free

[Verse 2]
I took a ride in New York City
But, it was too much cocaine and the girls ain’t cheap
I had to get out before it killed me
Running good ain’t running at that speed

[Pre-Chorus]
‘Cause California dreams has too many sleepless nights
I wanna feel the earth beneath my feet
Been searching for relief from all these city lights
I just need a place to let me be

[Chorus]
Let me be free
Let me be whole again
Let me be me
Let me take hold again
Let me be free
Let me be free

[Chorus]
Let me be free
Let me be whole again
Let me be me
Let me take hold again
Let me be free
Let me be whole again
Let me be me
Let me take hold again
Let me be free
Let me be free

SIA – Satisfied lyrics

A toast to the groom!
(to the groom, to the groom, to the groom)
To the bride!
(to the bride, to the bride, to the bride)
From your sister
(Angelica, Angelica, Angelica)
Who is always by your side
(by your side, by your side)
To your union and the hope that you provide
(you provide, you provide)
May you always (always)
Be satisfied (Rewind)

Rewind!
Rewind!
I remember that night, I just might
I remember that night, I just might
I remember that night, I remember that—

I remember that night, I just might
Regret that night for the rest of my days
I remember those soldier boys
Tripping over themselves to win our praise
I remember that dreamlike candlelight
Like a dream that you can’t quite place
But Alexander, I’ll never forget the first
Time I saw your face

I have never been the same
Intelligent eyes in a hunger-pang frame
And when you said “Hi,”
I forgot my dang name
Set my heart aflame, ev’ry part aflame
This is not a game…

You strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied
I’m sure I don’t know what you mean, you forget yourself
You’re like me, I’ve never been satisfied
Is that right?
I have never been satisfied
My name’s Angelica Schuyler
Alexander Hamilton
Where’s your fam’ly from?
Unimportant, there’s a million things I haven’t done
Just you wait, just you wait…

So so so—
So this is what it feels like to match wits
With someone at your level! What the hell is the catch? It’s
The feeling of freedom, of seein’ the light
It’s Ben Franklin with a key and a kite! You see it, right?
The conversation lasted two minutes, maybe three minutes
Ev’rything we said in total agreement, it’s
A dream and it’s a bit of a dance
A bit of a posture, it’s a bit of a stance
He’s a bit of a flirt, but I’m ‘a give him a chance
I asked about his fam’ly, did you see his answer?
His hands started fidgeting, he looked askance
He’s penniless, he’s flying by the seat of his pants

Handsome, boy, does he know it!
Peach fuzz, and he can’t even grow it!
I wanna take him far away from this place
Then I turn and see my sister’s face and she is

Helpless
And I know she is
Helpless
And her eyes are just
Helpless
And I realize three fundamental truths at the exact same time

I’m a girl in a world in which
My only job is to marry rich
My father has no sons so I’m the one
Who has to social climb for one
Cause I’m the oldest and the wittiest and the gossip in
New York City is insidious
And Alexander is penniless
Ha! That doesn’t mean I want him any less

(doesn’t mean I want him any less)
(doesn’t mean I want him any less)
(doesn’t mean I want him any less)

He’s after me ’cause I’m a Schuyler sister
That elevates his status, I’d
Have to be naïve to set that aside
Maybe that is why I introduce him to Eliza
Now that’s his bride
Nice going, Angelica, he was right
You will never be satisfied

(I will never be satisfied)
(I will never be satisfied)

I know my sister like I know my own mind
You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind
If I tell her that I love him she’d be silently resigned
He’d be mine
She would say, “I’m fine”
But she’d be lying

But when I fantasize at night
It’s Alexander’s eyes
As I romanticize what might have been
If I hadn’t sized him up so quickly
At least my dear Eliza’s his wife
At least I keep his eyes in my life…

To the groom!
(to the groom, to the groom, to the groom)
To the bride!
(to the bride, to the bride, to the bride)
From your sister
(Angelica, Angelica, Angelica)
Who is always by your side
(by your side, by your side)
To your union and the hope that you provide
(you provide, you provide)
May you always
Be satisfied

And I know (yeah)
She’ll be happy as his bride
And I know
He will never be satisfied
I will never be satisfied…

Stevie Wonder – Livin For The City

A boy is born in hard time Mississippi
Surrounded by four walls that ain’t so pretty
His parents give him love and affection
To keep him strong moving in the right direction
Living just enough, just enough for the city

His father works some days for fourteen hours
And you can bet he barely makes a dollar
His mother goes to scrub the floors for many
And you’d best believe she hardly gets a penny
Living just enough, just enough for the city yeah

His sister’s black but she is sho ’nuff pretty
Her skirt is short but Lord her legs are sturdy
To walk to school she’s got to get up early
Her clothes are old but never are they dirty
Living just enough, just enough for the city

Her brother’s smart he’s got more sense than many
His patience’s long but soon he won’t have any
To find a job is like a haystack needle
‘Cause where he lives they don’t use colored people
Living just enough, just enough for the city

Living just enough for the city

His hair is long, his feet are hard and gritty
He spends his life walking the streets of New York City
He’s almost dead from breathing in air pollution
He tried to vote but to him there’s no solution

Living just enough, just enough for the city yeah, yeah, yeah!

I hope you hear inside my voice of sorrow
And that it motivates you to make a better tomorrow
This place is cruel no where could be much colder
If we don’t change the world will soon be over

Living just enough, just enough for the city!

Alicia Keys – The Gospel (Short Film)

[Intro: Method Man + Raekwon + Ghostface ]
Oh yeah, coming through with my Shaolin crew
Two cent for a case, gimme St. Ide’s brew
In the midst of broken bottles and crushed up cans
Methtical’s in a jam, oh how dry I am
With St. Ides in my system
Crack another I’m blessed, let’s go get the next one
And get over, the object is to stay sober
Lay on the sofa, better yet, dial my chauffeur
Call me the Wallabee Champ, stretched out, could never be Son
Ricochet daily hit the deli for a cold one
Naturally blessed, yes, my rap is like a laser beam
Laser beam, laser beam, laser beam…

[Intro: Alicia Keys]
Uh, yeah, okay
Sing

[Verse 1: Alicia Keys]
So we all got children, products of the ghetto
Momma cooked us soup, daddy did the yelling
Uncle was a drunk, cousin was a felon
When he got pitched, he told them he wasn’t tellin’
Auntie was a cook, her husband was a crook
Cause every job he had they be payin’ him off the books
Ghetto university, knowledge is all it took
In a tenement I was listenin’ to the hook
Change gon’ come, the spirit of Sam Cook
When the feds comin’, everybody get shook
Now we doin’ life like Eddie Murphy and Martin
On the chain gang, i was singing into the coffin

[Pre-Chorus: Alicia Keys]
The roaches and the rats, heroin and the cracks
Couldn’t blame me, I’m just giving the facts
Tryna hit the top, the bottom ain’t where it’s at
Everybody got a past but you can never go back

[Chorus: Alicia Keys]
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (Sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (Sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (Sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (Sing)

[Verse 2: Alicia Keys]
Tellin’ you like it is, how we ever gon’ live?
If we ain’t gettin’ money, how we feedin’ the kids?
It’s a revolving door, where brothers be doin’ bids
I know it sound wrong but the door will be what it is
Survival of the fittest, this poor girl the illest
Broke parents and black cats give me heebie-geebies
Life seems hard but nothin’ ever comes easy
Whatever’s in the dark, can always become the light
If you ain’t in a battle, how you gon’ win the fight?
Gotta speak the truth when I’m up in the booth
The streets be flyin’ birds but they don’t be on the roof
Poverty is a pain like you pullin’ a tooth
Told the streets don’t let me go like I’m Bishop in Juice

[Pre-Chorus: Alicia Keys]
The roaches and the rats, heroin and the cracks
Couldn’t blame me, I’m just giving the facts
Tryna hit the top, the bottom ain’t where it’s at
Everybody got a past but you can never go back

[Chorus: Alicia Keys]
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah)
(Gotta sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah)

[Outro]
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
(Sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Gotta sing)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(She’s a king)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah)
And they sing New York City
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Lloyd Banks – Headache & Heartbreak (Halloween Havoc 3 Mixtape)

[Intro]
(Authentic)

[Verse 1]
Fool dumb as the last nigga that got at me
Shot up with bags of D
Fresh out of LIU, welcome to Halloween Havoc 3
Turning my mileage in, the last time you’re seeing me back for free
Blood in my writing pen, hype again, striking methodically
Honestly, can’t nobody see me
I’m in stealth form, champion
Kept the belt on, bodies for trampling, never felt for ’em
I don’t got the time to hate, let alone put the words together
At-ing niggas and never get at ’em, this is purging weather
Stack up on your surgeon cheddar
You’re rat and reptilian merged together
Folks know the fire, penned in disturbing letter
Giants stomping holes in these tracks, keeping the road crumbling
Opps don’t got no choice but falling back, uneasy souls hovering
Here’s the soundtrack for the riders, progress keeps the loads coming
Dollars won’t divide us, we’re back to the gold thugging
Flaunting armor through your airwaves, drown ’em in stereo
Wonder what took so long to spot ’em, these clowns took over years ago

[Hook]
Think so we’re done, I lied, I lost my mind
Product of heartbreak and the neighborhood never been the remorseful kind
Won’t see no handouts, you were forced to grind
Maybe you’re better off staying away, you’re (?), you cross the don
Make one mistake then knock you off your throne
I’m thinking, cutting and suffering, family hoping that you come back home
That man at work, don’t go disrupt his own
You on the wrong side of town for bitching, you belong with a sucker’s wrong

[Verse 2]
This time of year it’s hard to sleep, better bullets and trucks of red
Competition uncomfortable, this the month I play pumpkin head
Field kicking this shit for years, hop off on your disgruntled leg
Any contact from these punches fell, victims and knuckles bled
They tell you foul shit about me, don’t deliver it
Lee on the other hand woulda got into it for hearing it
Formed in the room of trauma, no silence for this experiment
Hands of a super doctor, high tolerance, I ain’t feeling shit
Anticipate reviews of my resume in the hottest summers
Look at what they push now, (?) gimmicks and one hit wonders
Perform in an empty stu’, fendi crew with the gun slid under
Lightening to your family room, disrespecting the son of thunder
Been here over (?) nigga
So for stomping daily, snap a monster picture
Blue and black from New York City’s hardest hitter
Problem baby, born guerrilla
Panic charms a killer
Chipped shoulder for soldiers that took me for granted, bombs delivered

[Hook]
Think so we’re done, (?) lost my mind
Product of heartbreak and the neighborhood never been the remorseful kind
Won’t see no handouts, you were forced to grind
Maybe you’re better off staying away, you’re (?), you cross the don
Make one mistake then knock you off your throne
I’m thinking, cutting and suffering, family hoping that you come back home

You on the wrong side of town for bitching, you belong with a sucker’s wrong

Alicia Keys – She Don’t Really Care 1 Luv (Here Deluxe Edition Album) letras

[Chorus]
She grew up in Brooklyn
She grew up in Harlem
She grew up in Bronx
She know she was a queen
She lived in Queens
Oh yeah, oh yeah
But she don’t really care
She don’t really care
She throw them diamonds in the air
Diamonds in the air
Oh yeah, oh yeah

[Verse 1]
She lived in Somalia
Her parents from Egypt
She was a queen in Cairo
(Oh yeah, oh yeah)

[Chorus]
But she don’t really care
She don’t really care
She throw them diamonds in the air
Diamonds in the air
Oh yeah, oh yeah

[Verse 2]
She picking all the wrong ones
And she’s looking for the right one in the wrong place
You remember her face? The prettiest face, prettiest face
(Oh yeah, oh yeah)
She looking for fulfillment
You would think she was looking for love, searching for love
She just looking to be taken care of
(Oh yeah, oh yeah)
You can find her in Harlem or Brooklyn
You can find her Brixton or Kingston
She’s a queen, know what I mean?
(Oh yeah, oh yeah)
She think she want a baby and she do it with the wrong one
Cause she’s looking for something but he don’t really care
He don’t really care
And life just isn’t fair

Harlem, New York
Brooklyn, New York
You think she loved you?
She’ll take you for everything you’ve got

Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
Open up your eyes

Move it to the left, move it to the right side
In the corner of New York City"

1 Luv
[Intro]
It’s the truth
It’s the dead truth
The live truth
It’s the live truth!
Yeah, it’s better life, yeah

[Verse 1]
All along I’ve ignored what I’ve always known
That the chair I’ve been sitting on is a throne
Affection kneels at the seat of my soul

[Pre-Chorus]
Tell the truth it can’t get no better
Swear to life it can’t get no better, oh no
By the way, I’ve been meaning to thank ya
By the way, I’ve been meaning to thank ya all along

[Chorus]
(One love)
One love, one love, one love, one love
One love, one love, one love, one love
(One love)
One love, one love, one love, one love
One love, one love, one love, one love

[Verse 2]
All along I was hoping understanding would be born
I was looking for knowledge to sing my song
But now I know that I am wisdom on my own

[Pre-Chorus]
Tell the truth it can’t get no better
Swear to life it can’t get no better, oh no
By the way, I’ve been meaning to thank ya
By the way, I’ve been meaning to thank ya all along

[Chorus]
(One love)
One love, one love, one love, one love
(One love)
One love, one love, one love, one love
(One love)
One love, one love, one love, one love
(One love)
One love, one love, one love, one love
